I was driving through town and stopped in for a bite. It was really delicious. I highly recommend eating here.

Hidalgo's has great, cheap Mexican food and great service for a small space. However, the steak strips are my favorite here!! They are hand breaded and cooked to order, and it shows. I dip them in salsa and you just really can't beat them! Great for Mexican and American food, all around

Solid dinner at Hidalgo's this past week with a group from work. We ordered nachos, fajitas, a few kinds of enchiladas, chalupa plate, and taco plate. Generous portions for everyone, and reasonable prices all around. Everything was delicious, fresh, hot and came out quickly. Service was a bit slow due to only one lady waiting tables, but the rest of the staff were attentive to make sure we were comfortable. Definitely worth a visit when you're hungry in San Angelo.

Small clean restaurant. Had the Mexican flag enchiladas. The chicken and cheese enchiladas were very good. The ground beef enchilada with red sauce wasn't my favorite. Service was quick and polite.

Great service, tasty food. Classic Mexican food setting although this location is relatively small so not ideal for larger groups.

This little gem always has customers. We have driven by dozens of times and thought it was time to give it a try. The chips were thin and crispy with a nice roasted flavor. The salsa wasn't chunky (we like!) and the garlic hits your tongue first with just enough spice. We had the Mexican Flag Enchiladas and were outstanding. Ground beef, pulled chicken and cheese enchiladas. The rice light and fluffy and refried beans cooked to perfection. The service was great! We will be back.

Decided to go with 5 stars for several very strong points, first this was one of the few Mexican restaurants open on a Sunday evening, second we got a booth immediately upon arriving and were given chips, salsa, and drinks in a timely matter despite the packed restaurant, third the waitress was very sweet and accommodating, and lastly the food was INCREDIBLE. If you're looking for good priced authentic Mexican food I recommend Hidalgo's.

HOLY MOLY! I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla dinner and it was very very decent. It came with rice and beans which were also great. It was not authentic mexican food, but it is definitely a place worth eating at. On the menu, most of it was mexican food, but there was an american food section, which is a little odd for a mexican restaurant, but totally fine. The restaurant itself was pretty small and cluttery, but the food definitely makes up for it!
